It seems that all through the course of time, mankind has always, in one way or another, turned “religion” into some complex system of do’s and don’ts, and\or rituals. God does not require all this complicated nonsense out of us. Read the words of Jesus. Repent of your sin. You know what your own sin is. We all do, we just choose to lie to ourselves and justify it with excuses. Love the Lord God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength, and your neighbor as yourself. (Newsflash, your neighbor is ANYONE you come in contact with, not just the guy next door.) Bask in the beauty and glory of His creation, and praise Him, because all of His works are marvelous. Nature brings healing to us, not in some weird, New Age kind of way, but just in the sense of appreciating the beauty and glory of the created order. Treat others well. Be generous. Don’t hold grudges. Don’t take revenge. Believe what God says in His Word, and don’t fall prey to the world’s system of lies. Share your faith with those around you. They need to know the truth, because the world is not giving it to them. Encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ. We all need encouragement. Have hope, even in the worst of circumstances. If you Believe the Gospel, you HAVE eternal life. It is a present reality, now, and in the future. It is really very simple. We just want to turn it into something too complicated.
